Displaced student reportedly arrested in Zalingei

A university student living in a displaced camp was reportedly arrested by security forces in Zalingei, Central Darfur, without any official charges, a source informed Radio Dabanga.Saad al-Nur Adam Yahiya, enrolled at the Zalingei University Level II was arrested on Sunday, 16 December. According to testimonies, he had not been released until Monday and his family is prevented from visiting him. A Hamidiya camp coordinator told Radio Dabanga that the student lives at Khams Degaig camp, and was arrested near Wadi Ariba, the site where he follows classes. The coordinator appealed to UNAMID and to the university’s director to intervene and allow the student’s family to visit him.
