Displaced shot, robbed, injured in North and South Darfur

On Saturday militiamen shot and seriously injured a displaced man of El Matar camp in Kabkabiya locality, North Darfur, and stole his property. In Mershing locality, South Darfur, gunmen shot and robbed two men in different incidents on Monday. Abdel Karim Ahmed Abdallah told Radio Dabanga that four government-backed militiamen stopped him on the road between Kamu and Aween Jaro, north of Kabkabiya town, while he was on his way back to the camp after collecting firewood. The gunmen ordered him to get off his cart and shot him twice on his right leg, as a result of which he is now bedridden. The stole SDG1,020 ($177), his mobile phone and his watch and threatened to kill him if he would return again to the area to collect firewood. Mershing In Mershing locality, South Darfur, three “Janjaweed” fired at both legs of Dafallah Ibrahim Eisa at the Solo camp for the displaced, and robbed him of his money and mobile phone on Monday.
