Two students died in Wad Madani hospital in Sudan’s El Gezira state on Tuesday after being admitted with watery diarrhoea.

Waleed Abdel Rahim Abdallah and Abdelaziz Mohamed, who are studying at the Faculty of Abubakar Osman in El Gezira, were admitted to the hospital with acute diarrhoea shortly before they died.

A student told Radio Dabanga revealed that there is a spread of diarrhoea in the Faculty’s boarding house because of water pollution.

He reports that there is diarrhoea among students at Soni boarding house and three infections among the students of El Razi of El Gezira University.

He appealed to the health authorities to intervene urgently.
