Darfuri students blocked from exams at El Fasher University

The University of El Fasher has prevented 16 Darfuri students of the faculty of medicine from taking their exams due to the fact that they did not pay their tuition fees. One of the students told Radio Dabanga that the university administration banned them from taking their exams due to the fact that they did not pay registration fees of 125 Sudanese pounds (SDG) and tuition fees of 800 SDG. The student explained that the university administration informed them they were not eligible for the exemption of tuition fees as stipulated in the Abuja and Doha agreements. The students appealed to the state and regional authorities to intervene and resolve the issues to save their academic future.Radio Dabanga file photo
