Darfur Students’ Associations of public universities demanded the transfer of the 2 billion dollars that was promised as a donation for the payment of fees of Darfurian students.

The funds are for Darfuri students enrolled for distance-learning, post-graduate studies and diplomas at the universities. The President of the Darfur Students’ Association in the University of Sudan said that they rejected an offer to transfer the money from the Finance to the General Union of Sudanese Students and thereafter to another committee and from there to university unions which would in turn hand it over to the university administration. The student leader stated that the rampant corruption in the country does not guarantee the arrival of the sum in full.
