Darfur’s displaced lack water in Kalma camp

Residents of Kalma camp in Nyala complained of a shortage in the supply of drinking water. One of the elders of the camp told Radio Dabanga that the water had been cut off for three consecutive days. The sheikh said that the government had banned gasoline from the camp. He said that this may cause double the suffering to the displaced persons of the camp especially with the high temperatures this time of year. Kalma is one of the largest if not the largest camp for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Darfur.
