Darfur pastoralists ask for open routes for migration

With the onset of the rainy season, herders in Darfur called on authorities and farmers to cooperate in arranging for open migration routes. This would allow the movement of pastoralists without obstacles, avoiding any friction between farmers and pastoralists, especially in South Darfur. One of the cattle owners in South Darfur called on Governor Hamid Musa Kasha to resolve this problem immediately and to open paths for nomads and oversee the migration to avoid any potential friction. Another shepherd on Tuesday in an interview with Radio Dabanga likewise appealed to the government to provide security, open paths, and provide livestock with safety and pasture.
