Darfur displaced wish all Sudanese ‘peace and prosperity’

On the occasion of Eid El Fitr that ended the fasting month of Ramdan on Sunday, the residents of the Darfur camps for the displaced wish the Sudanese people peace and prosperity in the coming year. Darfuri students in Khartoum are “deeply concerned” about the deterioration of the conditions in the camps .
“The Eid this year comes in difficult conditions. Diseases are spreading in the camps, the humanitarian situation is deteriorating, and the security situation has not improved so far,” El Shafee Abdallah, coordinator of the Central Darfur camps told Radio Dabanga.

“The Eid this year comes in difficult conditions. Diseases are spreading in the camps, the humanitarian situation is deteriorating, and the security situation has not improved so far,” El Shafee Abdallah, coordinator of the Central Darfur camps told Radio Dabanga.

“However, we hope that this Eid will be the last feast of suffering, and that the displaced people will be able to return to their homes soon, and the persons who have committed crimes against the Sudanese people will be held accountable.”

In Khartoum, the members of the Darfur Students' Associations called on the displaced in Darfur “to patiently continue their struggle until they attain the just peace they are wishing for”.

A student leader told Radio Dabanga that “The leaders of the Associations are deeply concerned about the deteriorating humanitarian and security conditions in the camps, as well as the rapid deterioration of the services provided to the displaced people”.
