Continuous herders attacks in South Darfur

A number of displaced people from the Mersheng and Manawashi localities and Duma, in South Darfur said they have been suffering continuous attacks from herders for the past two weeks, sources told Radio Dabanga on Friday, 12 October. The displaced said their crops have also been severely damaged, as herders invade their farms to feed their cattle. Witnesses added that herders threaten to shoot anyone who tries to stop their cattle from entering the farms. Victims appealed to the commissioner and local authorities in South Darfur to immediately intervene and protect them and their farms from herders. This way they can harvest their crops and stop losing money, a displaced told Radio Dabanga.
