Complaints over herdsmen’s attacks in Central Darfur

The citizens of the villages in Nierteti and Zalingei localities in Central Darfur have complained of the continuing attacks by armed herdsmen on farms, along with the large-scale violations by pro- government militias on citizens and their properties in those areas. Residents explained to Radio Dabanga that the villages Gorne, Maleh, Saga Dur, Danga and Ranaga in Nierteti have witnessed herdsmen “armed by the government” spreading in the citizens’ summer farms for about a week. This also happened to residents of the villages Dankouj, Abta, and Arwa in Zalingei. Herdsmen and militiamen have also assaulted and looted their mobile phones and other properties by force of arms.
