Citizen found dead in Port Sudan police cell

A citizen held in a police cell in Port Sudan was found dead on Monday, reportedly as a result of torture. A relative of the deceased told Radio Dabanga that El Hajaj Osman, detained by the police in Port Sudan on Sunday, was found dead on Monday morning inside a holding cell of the Police Department in the Deim Arab district. “He had marks of torture on his body.” Osman’s body was transferred to a hospital. The police in Port Sudan have not issued any comment about the incident so far. File photo
