Central Police cause panic at El Fasher campaign rally

The Central Reserve Forces fired a Dushka cannon yesterday during a campaign rally in El Fasher on the Al Thawra field. This caused the crowd to flee from the grounds and prompted complaints from two independent candidates. Mohammed Daoud Mustafa, candidate for the Legislative Council of El Fasher, and Daoud Ahmed Tahir Ali, candidate for the National Assembly, raised the issue with the Elections Comission and Security Service, asking who was responsible for what happened to their constituents at the rally. Mustafa said to Radio Dabanga that the security services typically secure the rallies but this time did not come at all.
