Cattle owners clash with gunmen in Central Darfur

One man was killed and others wounded in Wadi Salih locality in Central Darfur on Thursday in clashes between gunmen and a cattle owners. Speaking to Radio Dabanga witnesses said that in the morning, gunmen on camels and horses stole 150 cows from the area of Faya, south of Garsila. The owners and their neighbours formed a ‘rescue team’ that pursued the cattle thieves. They clashed with them, which resulted in the death of one of the team members and the injury of others. The gunmen escaped, taking the cows with them. The witnesses noted that the situation has become very tense in the region after the incident and that traffic has halted in the area south of Garsila.
