Bus accident in South Darfur leaves 2 dead, 35 wounded

A bus turned over in South Darfur resulting in the deaths of two passengers and the wounding of 35 others with fractures and various other injuries. The bus was heading from Duma to Mershing.

A bus turned over in South Darfur resulting in the deaths of two passengers and the wounding of 35 others with fractures and various other injuries. The bus was heading from Duma to Mershing. According to the Director of Mershing Health Center, Dr. Nour Eldin Omda, the accident happened on Monday as the bus encountered a pack of animals in the area of Khor Gas. The bus was being driven by the assistant driver.

The doctor also stated that the civilians Shams Eldin Mohammed Tirab and Ashraf Mohammed Gamar Eldin died instantly, both of them citizens of Menawashi.

After carrying out first aid on the wounded, it was decided that 22 of the wounded with fractures should be transferred to Nyala Hospital on a lorry due to lack of ambulance services in the area.
