Attacks in South Darfur camp: woman killed, two injured

A displaced woman was killed in Nyala locality, South Darfur, and armed men attacked two camp residents in separate incidents in Otash camp on Sunday.

A displaced woman was killed in Nyala locality, South Darfur, and armed men attacked two camp residents in separate incidents in Otash camp on Sunday.

A Sheikh in Otash camp near Nyala reported to Radio Dabanga that armed men stabbed Omaima Ahmed to death inside her home in Centre 3 on Sunday evening. He did not know the reasons for the attack.

Other militants stabbed displaced woman Mariam Ibrahim Bakhat, and badly injured her, on Sunday. Mohamed Tabajky was also injured in the attack. Both have been transferred to hospital in Nyala.

Kabkabiya

Gunmen shot a farmer southwest of Kabkabiya in North Darfur on Sunday. A woman activist from the area told Radio Dabanga that three gunmen demanded farmers from Dali village pay SDG200 ($33) because they used vehicles to load and transport onions.

She added that the farmers refused to pay and the men opened fire on them. Farmer Salahuddin Adam Ali was wounded in one of his legs. He is being treated in a hospital in Kabkabiya.
