Arman warns of war if Addis Ababa Agreement is aborted

 Yasir Arman, Secreatry-General of SPLM – Northern Sector, warned of the consequences if the Addis Ababa agreement framework, between SPLM and the NCP, would be aborted  The Sudan Peoples Liberation Movement of South Kordofan (SPLM) is said to close in on Kadugli, inflicting damage on military equipment, and killing a number of government soldiers. An SPLM leader told radio Dabanga that his forces took hold of several military vehicles, including a tank, 19 Land Cruisers, 3 trucks, 120 Hauser cannons and additional weapons and munition. He also said that in the fighting three officers got killed, including a high ranked Colonel.  Radio Dabanga, after repeated attempts, wasn’t allowed access to the military spokesman of the Government of Sudan to verify this information.

He said that this would lead to an outbreak of war in a large region, stretching from the Blue Nile to as far as Darfur. Arman accused that adversaries of the Addis Ababa agreement are in fact advocating hatred and war.

 SPLM South-Kordofan commander Abdul Aziz Al Hilu, called on President Bashir to give himself up tot the International Criminal Court. Abdulaziz urges Bashir to clear his name of charges of genocide and war crimes and crimes against humanity in Darfur and to submit others to trial. Abdulaziz expressed regrets about Bashir’s statements against the arrest warrant, as he believes that it is in breach with the Constitution and the Addis Ababa Agreement. He claims that Bashir initiated the war against the SPLM in South Kordofan.
