‘Abu Tira’ loot baker inside his home in Kutum, N. Darfur

A baker from the city of Kutum in North Darfur was looted inside his own home located at the town’s Jebel neighborhood by members of the Central Reserve Forces, known as Abu Tira, on Monday night. Upon arriving in Jebel, the Abu Tira began firing shots in the air scaring the other residents, a friend of the baker Saddiq told Radio Dabanga. Then at 11:00pm they entered Saddiq’s home, stole seven million Sudanese pounds from him at gunpoint and fled to their base inside Kutum, the victim’s friend recounted. Meanwhile, gunmen wearing military uniforms assaulted a man in West Darfur who was traveling between Mornei and For Baranga. The victim, Al-Mahi Mohamed Abdullah, told Radio Dabanga the perpetrators took his motorcycle and two million Sudanese pounds. He was whipped and left behind in the bush.
