Abdul Wahid and Minni Minawi sign agreement

The Sudan’s Liberation Movements headed by Abdul Wahid (SLM-AW) and the Sudan’s Liberation Movement headed by Minni Minawi (SLM-MM), signed an agreement of alliance and joint work to achieve security and humanitarian aid for the citizens of Darfur. The agreement aims to coordinate political and military efforts to bring down the regime of the National Congress Party. In a joint statement released by the two movements yesterday carrying the signatures of Minawi and Abdul Wahid, the two sides confirmed that that the Sudanese crisis has historical roots in the Darfur crisis, and both would not be solved unless in the framework of a comprehensive solution for Sudan.

He also welcomed the military alliance and field coordination in order to stop the killing and displacements going on in Darfur.

 Minni Minawi, head of SLM-MM, also welcomed the alliance, coordination and joint work with the SLM-AW of Abdul Wahid. In an interview with Radio Dabanga, he confirmed that the agreement is based on four articles regarding military, political and humanitarian fields and stopping the killings, and displacements going on in Darfur. They are working on unifying the vision with all the Sudanese political parties.
