Abbala militias abduct North Darfur travellers

Militiamen of the Abbala tribe hijacked a Land Cruiser carrying 14 people while it was on its way from Kabkabiya to El Sareif Beni Hussein locality in North Darfur on Tuesday. One of the hostages told Radio Dabanga that the Abbala militia intercepted the vehicle while they were travelling in Garrah Faragawiya area in El Sareif Beni Hussein, and took them to Gharra El Zawya. There, they released seven hostages and kept seven. A source told Radio Dabanga that the hijacking of the vehicle and the abduction of the passengers occurred against the backdrop of the killing of an Abbala member and the wounding of an other, in a clash with the Beni Hussein tribe at Um Sunaina area, 13 km east of El Sareif town on Monday.
