40 children stricken with disease in North Kordofan

Children in the Um Maraheik area in North Kordofan are coming down with a disease that doctors have not yet been able to identify.

Asim Taber, the MP of El Khoiy constituency, told Radio Dabanga that 40 children between the ages of 12 and 15 have already been infected with the strange disease. However, he says, doctors are at a loss as to how to treat it.

The symptoms include “constant screaming and uncontrollable nervous movements”.

The MP demanded that the Health Ministry intervene to contain the disease immediately.
