11 injured in South Kordofan as Sudanese pastoralists clash over water

On Tuesday, 11 people were injured when a clash broke out between pastoralists at a water point in Sudan’s South Kordofan.

Witnesses told Radio Dabanga that firearms as well as edge weapons were used, when the dispute broke out at Elromal in El Tadamon locality.

The dispute was over whose cattle should have priority at the water resource.

The injured have been transferred to Kosti hospital.

Other callers told this station that El Tadamon locality in South Kordofan is suffering of deterioration of health and education services, as well as a severe shortage of drinking water and the deterioration of the roads.

They have pointed out that humans and animals are sharing the same water resources.
