10 West Darfur camps without food rations for 2 months

April 22 - 2013 EL GENEINA

“Lack” of food rations for the last 50 days is reportedly worsening the health conditions of residents of all 10 displaced camps in El Geneina, capital of West Darfur, sources say.

Different activists and sheikhs blame the Sudanese Red Crescent Society for the situation, as the organization is responsible for distributing nourishment “on behalf” of the World Food Programme (WFP).

“This is increasing the suffering of the displaced, especially of women, children and the elderly”, a source said.

He is urging authorities to urgently find a solution for the "lack of food rations" in the camps.
