Kassab camp residents suffer food, water shortages

People suffer in Kassab camp in northern Darfur suffer from food shortages and water shortages with the influx of new migrants to the camp. Leaders of the camp appealed to the United Nations and humanitarian aid organizations to rescue the camp residents. One of the leaders of the displaced peopled told this to Radio Dabanga. World Food Programme survey data shows that residents of the camp suffered a 41% decline in income between November 2009 and February 2010. Since then, the poor harvest, among other factors, has kept food prices high in the state.
