Taj Eldin Naim, the chief negotiator of the LJM, announced that his movement received an official letter from the mediators in Doha which states that the final document for peace in Darfur should be delivered on the 27th of this April and the civil society Forum to he held on the 18th of the coming May. This is not the first time the mediators have set such a “final” deadline, and rebels and the government have not overcome intractable differences over several major issues within the peace document.

Doha-based mediators, including AU-UN representative Djibril Bassolé and a team of Qatari diplomats, have invited a diverse group of “civil society” actors from Darfur, Chad and the diaspora for participation in the upcoming third major forum of its kind.
