North Darfur arrest warrant against number of Border Guards

The North Darfur authorities have reportedly issued an arrest warrant against seven members of the Border Intelligence Brigade (Border Guards) who carried out attacks on the villages of Lamena and Abu Sekin in Kutum locality during the first week of this month.
El Tayeb Ahmed Ibrahim, Independent MP for North Darfur constituency 9 told Radio Dabanga on Tuesday that the governor of North Darfur recently sent an order to the commander of the sixth infantry to arrest the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
The MP confirmed that attacks on villagers and farmers in the locality are still ongoing.
He added that a group of MPs will file a complaint to the Minister of Interior Affairs, Lt. Gen. Esmat Abdelrahman Zeinelabdin, about the absence of courts, a prosecution office, and police forces in Kutum locality for more than three years.
He said that the North Darfur government plans to send a force of 500 policemen, accompanied by three prosecutors and two judges, have not been implemented yet.
