Internally displaced persons (IDPs) in West Darfur had a dispute with local educators about tuition fees. Residents of the displaced camp Khamsa Degeig in Zalingei accused the administrators of Imam Ali School of expelling students for not paying school fees. They said that 35 students were expelled from the school because they failed to pay the prescribed fees in the amount of 20 pounds per student. The displaced said that the children of other citizens in school were not treated in the same manner as theirs were. They accused the school of discrimination against the sons of the displaced. Radio Dabanga approached Professor Abdullah Khamis, Minister of Education in West Darfur, inquiring about the topic and he promised an investigation and response as soon as possible.
