Water, fuel, electricity shortages turning into crisis in Nyala

Residents in Nyala, the capital of South Darfur are facing an electricity, fuel and water crisis. Witnesses told Radio Dabanga that the price of a gallon of petrol is 25 Sudanese pounds, and diesel 35 pounds, along with ongoing drinking water shortages. Residents also complained of the deteriorating security situation and and the frequent assaults by militants in some neighbourhoods. A witness said armed groups have been smashing up shops and cars, looting everything in sight along with robbing residents at gunpoint, forcing many people to stay at home in the evenings for fear of assault or robbery.
