Voter registration started

KHARTOUM (2 Nov.) – Sudan began yesterday to register people on the electoral roll to participate in the upcoming elections scheduled for next April 2010. The alliance of the opposition political forces in South Darfur said the state electoral commission has not yet determined the registration centers in constituencies in South Darfur.

The alliance of the opposition political forces in South Darfur said the state electoral commission has not yet determined the registration centers in constituencies in South Darfur. Lawyer Adam Shareif, from the opposition alliance told radio Dabanga that the commission has names of all the representatives of the political parties of the state, but did not contact them to inform them on registration centers. This was disclosed by Sharief to radio Dabanga from Nyala.
