He added that the camp wasn’t inhabited by refugees but had been acting as a base camp for the ninth brigade of Sudan People Liberation Army (SPLA).The Sudanese ambassador said that his country reserves the right to defend itself using any kind of military action within its territory.

A special United Nations mission verified on Tuesday last week’s attack on South Sudan’s Ida refugee camp.

The mission confirmed that four bombs were dropped in the region on November 10, Hervé Ladsous, under secretary-general for peacekeeping operations of the UN, said.

In an address to the UN Security Council, Ladsous said that two different eyewitness accounts had attributed the bombing to a white Antonov aircraft belonging to the Sudanese Air Force (SAF).

The Sudanese ambassador to the United Nations Ali Al Haj Osman denied on Wednesday that Sudan was responsible for the bombing of Ida refugee camp in South Sudan’s Unity state.

He said that Ida wasn’t located in South Sudan but fell within Sudanese jurisdiction in the state of South Kordofan. He added that the camp wasn’t inhabited by refugees but had been acting as a base camp for the ninth brigade of Sudan People Liberation Army (SPLA).
