Two young women raped in Darfur’s Jebel Marra
A group of gunmen raped two young women from Katur village in Jebel Marra today.
A neighbour reported to Radio Dabanga that the women, aged 17 and 18, were on their way to the area north of Katur on Sunday morning to collect straw, when they were intercepted by armed men riding camels.
“The janjaweed raped both women in the open,” she said. “The crime was reported to the military base near Katur, but they did not move to hunt down the perpetrators.”
