Two people were killed and 16 others wounded in clashes in Sudan’s Northern State, following a dispute over the ownership of agricultural land. Thirteen of the fighters in Dongola area have been arrested.

Disagreement erupted between two groups over Haj Zumar and El Gileia agricultural areas. The police managed to arrest 13 people on charges of murder and breaching public safety.

Police chief, Maj. Gen. Mohamed Fadel, told Radio Dabanga that the police has contained the tension and is in control of the situation.

The names of the dead are Sharaf Ali Nur and Abdallah Mohiudin El Haj Rahman. The wounded have been taken to the hospital in Dongola to receive medical treatment.
