Two girls raped, others held in Tabit, North Darfur

Relatives of the victims said that gunmen from the Abbala tribe intercepted a group of people in Tukumari, who left Tabit to fetch straw and firewood.

The attackers whipped the people and held them for hours before releasing them. Two girls, aged 14 and 16, were raped. They have been transferred to a health centre in Tabit for treatment after the rape was reported to the local police station.

According to the relatives, among those held hostage were Abdallah Ibrahim Musa, Yahya Hamid Salim, Abdellatif Musa Zakaria Omar, Aysha Saleh Abaker, Kaltoum Hamid Ibrahim, Kaltoum Hamid Adam, Yahya Nouruldin Yahya Shogara Adam and Musa Yagoub.
