Twenty five killed in Nuwayba and Misseriya clashes

Twenty five people were killed and dozens were injured in recent clashes between the Misseriya and Nuwayba in the villages of Tourggoung, Delibayah and Duwair in the locality of Kass. A source told Radio Dabanga that twenty wounded people from both fighting parties were transported to the hospital of Kass.

The security committee of South Darfur held a meeting to review the security situation of Kass locality in the aftermath of recent clashes. Later the committee moved to Kass to get closer to the events in the theatre. Eyewitnesses told Radio Dabanga that there were armed tribal groupings along the way northwest of Kass. The South Darfur government sent security forces to contain the situation. Hundreds of families went homeless, roaming the area for security, the witness added. Radio Dabanga unsuccessfully tried to contact Commissioner of Kass Locality Ali Mahmoud to comment on the events.
