Travellers robbed in North Darfur

On Saturday, militiamen robbed the passengers of two commercial vehicles in North Darfur.
Speaking to Radio Dabanga, one of the victims reported that the two vehicles were on their way from Karnoi to Kutum.
“In the area of Shag El Nakhara, six members of a government-backed militia driving a Land Cruiser intercepted us,” he said.
“They beat us with their whips, and robbed us of our belongings. Together we lost about SDG20,000 ($3,000).”
