Teachers ask parents to keep girls in school

Teachers in South Darfur are calling for parents to keep their girls in school.
‘You feel sad when you see other girls going to school’, said Amani Abdul Baqi, whose father took her out of school.
The initiative is in cooperation with UNICEF and trying to educate parents on the importance of school and challenge the idea that it is against religion or tradition.
It will also highlight the lack of possibilities for women if they do not finish school and enter early marriage.
