Sudanese troops kill man in East Jebel Marra

Troops belonging to the Sudan Armed Forces reportedly killed a man near a military garrison in East Jebel Marra on Thursday afternoon. A relative of the deceased reported to Radio Dabanga that the government forces of the Khazan Tunjur garrison encountered Hussein Mahjoub Ishag at noon, while he was helping his cattle drink water. They demanded Ishag to pay SDG 150,000 ($26,214) in support of their garrison. “Hussein refused to do so, after which they shot him dead on the spot,” the relative said. He appealed to the Sudanese authorities to put an end to the violations and abuses by the government forces and militias in East Jebel Marra area.
