Sudanese students want investigation of breach of campus sanctuary law

A committee of students supporting the striking doctors’ association at the University of Khartoum demanded an investigation of why security forces were allowed to enter the campus of the pharmaceutical faculty and beat students. One of the student activist leaders said that the police even entered the student dormitories and fired tear gas, recalling that the law does not allow police to enter the campuses of universities, except with the permission of prosecutors. “We also note that the entry of the police onto the campus left 10 wounded including one of them who is in a coma,” said one student to Radio Dabanga.
