Sudan security services arrest nurse in Garsila

A male nurse was detained on Sunday by the Sudanese security services at Garsila town’s market in Central Darfur. Sources were not able to confirm the reason of his arrest.     Abdul Azim Omar Younis was captured at 4:00pm when security authorities arrived at the market in vehicles and took him to their office. Younis lives at the Ardeba displaced camp and works at the Garsila Royal Hospital. An activist told Radio Dabanga the detainee’s family has not been allowed to see him yet and fear he may be tortured. Residents of Ardeba are demanding authorities to release Younis or to give him the chance to stand trial. They are also asking for the support of human rights organizations and international agencies. On 21 March, Sudanese security forces arrested three people inside their home in Garsila.
