Sudan army ‘opens fire’ on high school student in Darfur

Three members of the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) opened fire on a high-school student in North Darfur on Wednesday. Adam Hussein Mohamed was seriously wounded and transferred to a hospital for treatment.Witnesses from Kabkabiya told Radio Dabanga that Mohamed was working at a shop at the moment of the shooting. However, they were not able to inform what the cause of the indecent was.The suspects are currently in custody as civilians traced them back to a garrison in the vicinity and filed a complaint at the police station.In South Darfur, Sumoya Ibrahim Algher from Dreige camp for displaced, is said to be in critical condition as a result of shootings by pro-government militias.A sheikh of the camp told Radio Dabanga that Algher was hurt after seven militiamen robbed 50 mobile phones from the shop of the displaced Abbakar Yaqoub and then began firing random gunshots in the air leading to the injury. Algher is currently being treated at the Nyala hospital.File photo
