Students accuse government of planning to close University

March 29 - 2011 Nyala

The political alliance of students at the University of Nyala accused the state government of planning to shut down the University. Activists at the university told Radio Dabanga that there is a wave of arrests against political activists at the University. There is a increasing number of security forces inside and outside the university premises who tear posters and pamphlets of the political activists. The activists said that the government with this breached the rights of the students, because the government is afraid that revolution will break out at the university. The fear of revolution would lead the government to planning to close the Universities of El Fasher, Nyala and Zalingei.
