SRF claims control of Heglig, SLM-AW fight army in Darfur

The Sudan Revolutionary Front said it was entering the oil rich Heglig area of South Kordofan on Saturday. ‘The forces of the Justice and Equality Movement, the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement and the Sudan Liberation Movement (unity faction) entered Heglig and gained complete control of the area’, said JEM spokesman Badawi Musa Al Sakin to Radio Dabanga. The spokesman said the Front killed hundreds of government soldiers, forced others to flee and seized many of their weapons and armoured vehicles. SLM clash wth government in DarfurIn Darfur, the Sudan Liberation Movement led by Abdel Wahid said it repelled an attack by the Sudanese army in Jebel Marra. More than 40 army vehicles were traveling on the road between Gulo and Rokeru when the SLM-AW attacked, said the movement’s secretary Madani to Radio Dabanga. The SLM-AW destroyed eight vehicles and seized one loaded with weapons, added the secretary. Radio Dabanga was unable contact the Sudanese army for comment.
