New power generators for South Darfur capital

The National Electricity Corporation has allocated additional electrical power generators to Nyala, capital of South Darfur.
The city has been experiencing power shortages for more than ten years. Bahreldin Yahya Sharif, Director of Nyala Electricity Stations told reporters in Nyala on Thursday that the new generators will resolve the power crisis to a large extent.

The National Electricity Corporation has allocated additional electrical power generators to Nyala, capital of South Darfur.

The city has been experiencing power shortages for more than ten years. Bahreldin Yahya Sharif, Director of Nyala Electricity Stations told reporters in Nyala on Thursday that the new generators will resolve the power crisis to a large extent.

He said that with the new generators, the power production will increase to 18 megawatt, which will enable a number of factories to resume their work.   

Until now South Darfur state had to make do with 10 megawatt, while 20 megawatt is actually needed, he explained.
