South Darfur children dying of fever, diarrhoea

The residents of Niteaga Locality in South Darfur have complained of high fever and diarrhoea spreading among children in the area. Some have died.

The residents of Niteaga Locality in South Darfur have complained of high fever and diarrhoea spreading among children in the area. Some have died.

A relative of one of the patients told Radio Dabanga that the disease is not responding to the medicines given to the patients by Niteaga health centre.

“What they give people is a drug against malaria, which does not help for this infection. Several children have died, and others have been transferred to hospital in Nyala.

The caller appealed to the health authorities to speed-up intervention to treat the patients and contain the situation.
