Six women, some of them minors, were raped in separate incidents in East Jebel Marra during the past few days.

Speaking to Radio Dabanga, a relative of one of the victims reported that two young women, aged 18 and 16, were gang-raped by militiamen on their farms in Mashrou Abu Zeid on Monday.

On Tuesday, two gunmen ambushed a young woman who tended her farmland in the area of Murtal, west of Khazan Tunjur. “They beat her, stripped her, and raped her alternately,” a farmer said.

In the area of Kator, in North Darfur's Tawila locality (traditionally considered part of East Jebel Marra), three women were raped by a group of militiamen on Tuesday.

A relative of one of the women told Radio Dabanga that they reported the attack to the garrison commander in the vicinity. He told them that he does not have the power to prosecute offenders.
