Security incidents at night in Kalma Camp in South Darfur

Displaced people living in Kalma Camp accused government gunmen of firing seven rocks onto the camp at Center 6 on Monday night. The attackers fired heavy and light weapons but failed to hit anyone, according to a source in the camp. The UN peacekeeping mission made a similar report, stating Tuesday that “Gunshots were heard last night in one sector of the Kalma internally displaced person (IDP) camp… A UNAMID patrol immediately proceeded in the direction of the shooting. At the site, four RPGs were found, as well as more than 100 spent cartridges.”
