Security apparatus donates millions to Sudanese football clubs

El Mireikh Sports Club has received a cheque of SDG1 million ($166,000) from the National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS) in support of the club’s participation in the African competition. El Hilal Sports Club will receive the same amount.
General Manager of NISS’ Guidance department, Brig. Dukhri El Zaman Omar Musad, handed the check to the president of El Mireikh, Jamal El Wali, during a reception this weekend.

El Mireikh Sports Club has received a cheque of SDG1 million ($166,000) from the National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS) in support of the club’s participation in the African competition. El Hilal Sports Club will receive the same amount.

General Manager of NISS’ Guidance  department, Brig. Dukhri El Zaman Omar Musad, handed the check to the president of El Mireikh, Jamal El Wali, during a reception this weekend.

Musad said that the step comes in the context of the NISS’ societal role concerning cultural, scientific, social, and sports activities, in particular in the women, youth, and students’ sectors, according to the pro-government Sudan Vision Daily today.

He said that he would visit El Hilal Sports Club the next day, to hand them a check with the same sum, hailing the promising results achieved by the two clubs so far.

Higher education

Sudan Vision Daily reported on Monday that NISS is enhancing its support of many universities, student societies, scientific programmes and journeys, and cultural and sports activities.

At a ceremony organised by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, security director Lt. Gen Mohamed Atta El Moula Abbas said that the NISS is already supporting many universities, student societies, scientific programmes and journeys, and cultural and sports activities.
