Robberies by gang ‘led by security police’ in southern Khartoum, Sudan

The residents of a number of districts in southern Khartoum suffer from assaults, robberies, and extortion at gunpoint by a gang, led by one of the members of the security police.
One of the victims told Radio Dabanga that many people were subjected to robbery by force of arms by a gang headed by a police security officer named Yasir Hamed Saleh. “We filed several complaints against Yasir at El Azhari Prosecution Office, to no avail.”
“The gang is active in the districts of Soba El Hilla, Soba El Mahatta, Soba El Shahinat, Salama, and El Azhari”, he explained.

The plaintiff accused the security police commander of Abu Adam sector in Jebel Awliya, El Raed Mohamed, “who is related to Yasir”, of protecting him and preventing his arrest, and appealed to the authorities to intervene, stop the assaults of citizens, and bring the perpetrators to justice.
