Rail link between Khartoum and South Darfur restored

After a hiatus of ten years, Khartoum and South Darfur are connected again by a passenger train. On Wednesday, the renewed railway line between Khartoum and Nyala was inaugurated in the presence of Minister of Transport and Roads, Dr Ahmed Babakar Nahar. The train, numbering 11 wagons, with a capacity of 540 passengers, will stop at ten stations between the Sudanese capital and Nyala.
