Police arrest 3 displaced for ‘unknown reasons’ in W Darfur

Three displaced persons were arrested inside their homes by Sudanese police forces in a West Darfur camp on Monday. Two have been released and they claim not to know the reasons behind the detentions. A sheikh of Murnei camp told Radio Dabanga Mohamed Hussein Ibrahim and Abdul Rahman Issa were released on bail on Tuesday morning. Meanwhile, the female displaced Saadia Mohamed Abbaker remains in custody. On an unrelated event, the sheikh disclosed that pro-government militiamen assembled near the camp on Sunday causing residents to flee their homes. The militants were driving cars, motorbikes and riding camels and horses, he said.
