Nyala residents complain about power cuts

Residents from Nyala complained about power cuts and water shortages in some neighborhoods, Radio Dabanga learned on Wednesday October 24.In addition, shopkeepers and residents from industrial areas claim that their commercial interests are harmed by the intermittent disruption in electricity. Mohamed Hafiz Noor, director of electricity distribution in the state, attributed the reasons for the frequent power outages to the low generating capacity and scarcity of fuel. He disclosed that more than 100000 homes in Nyala have access to electricity, while the company only contracted 18000 homes.
